

Janette “Nanny” Mathews, passed away Wednesday January 22, 2025. Funeral service is Sunday, January 26, 2pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw with Pastor Bill Floyd officiating. Burial will follow the service at Pine Ridge Memorial Park. Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family on Sunday at the funeral home from 1pm until 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Janette to the Food Pantry Ministry at Shiloh Community Church, 3860 Cherokee Street NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Long retired from the traditional workforce, Janette spent her later years as a domestic goddess keeping a lovely home, caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and preparing delicious meals for her husband Curtis Mathews and family. She loved to collect dolls and knick-knacks, watch the Grand Ole Opry, read mysteries, and tend to her flowers and plants. Family and friends will remember Janette as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend with a bright smile that brought joy and happiness to all who knew her.
Those who survive Janette include her son & daughter in law – Bruce and Lisa Mathews, grandchildren – Gwen Lott Harp, David Johnson (Dawn), Savannah Williamson (Tyler), Kali Allyn Mathews Haney (Brian), and Kirbi Mathews, great grandchildren – Ashley Harp, Bethony Harp, Alex Harp, Austin Williamson, Aubrey Williamson, Genesis Johnson and Chase Johnson. Janette was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Curtis Mathews, her son – David Lott, daughter – Pam Dean, her father - Rube Hamby, her mother - Lura Stansberry Hamby and 11 siblings.
