John Henry Richardson

John Henry Richardson Jr., age 93 of Acworth, Georgia passed away on Monday, February 7, 2022. John had a career in the Navy where he honorably served his country for 24 years. He retired in 1970 with the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. John was extremely proud of his service in the Navy. He loved his country and instilled that love in his children. John was not one to be idle so after he retired, he held positions at Lockheed, Westinghouse and Cobb Marietta Water Authority. John was a lifelong learner and took every opportunity to gain knowledge whether it was taking classes or reading books. John had many talents and could fix almost anything. John was always willing to give a helping hand to family and friends. He will be missed.

John is survived by his sons, Jon Richardson, Ron Richardson (Pam), Keith Richardson; daughter-in-law, Jill Richardson; brother, Frank Richardson and sister, Margaret Reagan and 3 granddaughters, Sarah Beckman (Aaron), Callie Richardson and Reid Richardson.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Susan Hulsey Richardson and son, Randy Richardson.

A visitation will be held Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. A burial will occur on February 24 at 1:30 PM at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, GA 30114.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in John’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
