February 26, 1982 – August 1, 2025
Joshua Thomas Carvalho, born on February 26, 1982, in Tucker, Georgia to his beloved parents Thomas & Patsy Carvalho, passed away suddenly on August 1, 2025, in Colquitt, Georgia. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date to honor the incredible man Josh was.
A devoted husband, father, veteran, mentor, and friend, Josh lived a life defined by love, service, and a deep dedication to those around him. For nineteen beautiful years, he was married to the love of his life and best friend, Mindy. Together, they built a life full of laughter, support, and shared dreams.
A proud United States Marine, Josh served his country with honor for six years and was discharged with distinction. His sense of duty and discipline carried through every aspect of his life. After his military service, he found a new calling in telecommunications, spending over 2 decades in the industry and ultimately becoming a respected project manager with NextEdge Networks.
Josh earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Georgia, where he was a proud member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and the Blue Ridge Rifles, building friendships and memories that lasted a lifetime.
He had a true passion for coaching youth baseball, always ready with encouragement, wisdom, and humor. He made a lasting impact on the lives of countless young athletes, not just as a coach, but as a mentor and role model. He loved to cook and took pride in feeding friends and family, turning meals into moments of connection. Whether cheering on UGA football, the Atlanta Falcons, or the Braves, he brought energy and loyalty to everything he did. He also found peace in the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and being in nature. More than anything, Josh loved his family. He was a fiercely devoted father and a rock-solid husband.
He showed up—for the little things and the big moments—with an open heart and generous spirit. He was the guy who would give you the shirt off his back, the first to lend a hand, and the last to ever ask for anything in return. Josh leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering kindness. He made people feel seen, heard, and valued.
Josh is survived by his loving wife, Mindy Carvalho; son, Jordan Carvalho; mother, Pat Keeble Carvalho; parent-in-laws, Douglas & Barbara Muchow; brother-in-law, Matt Muchow; uncle, Kenneth Carvalho; and aunt, Sheryl Sullivan; two nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas W. Carvalho.
His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched—family, friends, teammates, colleagues, and the young people he so passionately mentored. Until then, we remember him with gratitude, laughter, and love—because that is exactly how he lived.
Semper Fi, Josh. You are dearly missed and forever remembered.
