

He was the youngest of 3 sisters and 3 brothers. At 17 he ventured to the Montana Canadian border where he worked as a cowboy. He then joined the U.S. Navy and flew as a Gunner on a PBY-A plane during the Korean War.He then met the love of his life, Mary Ellen Jernigan (Susie) while stationed in Pensacola, FL. They have raised five of the most eclectic children ever; Susan Butler, Michael Plumb, Mitchell Plumb, Andrew Plumb and Kimberly Poss.Ken was successful in all of his endeavors. He joined the U. S. Army and obtained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer.He also served during the Vietnam War with distinction earning the Bronze Star.After retiring from the military he joined the Georgia Building Authority and eventually became Chief of Police of the Georgia State Capital. Ken was an adventurous outdoorsman; working as a cowboy, sailor, soldier, police officer, spy, locksmith, photographer, poet and author.
Most importantly, he was a loving husband and father. Ken is survived by his wife, Susie, five children, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The Funeral will be Thursday, May 11th at 12:00 pm where he⁷ will be interned at the Georgia National Cemetery located at 1080 Veterans Cemetery Road, Canton Georgia.
