Mr. Lowry Thomas Isbill, age 81, of Acworth, GA., passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018. Lowry was born on May 17, 1937 in Englewood, Tennessee, a son of the late Erskin Lowry Isbill and Mattie Atkins Isbell.
Lowry spent most of his young life in Tennessee. Following his high school career in joined the United States Army and honorably served his beloved country. His working career was spent at Lockheed Martin in Marietta, GA; from which he retired after thirty-two years of dedicated employment. In his spare time he enjoyed singing and playing bluegrass music, he especially loved playing his banjo. Lowry even made two of his own custom banjos, which he played often. He also loved working in his vegetable garden and cheering on the Atlanta Braves. Lowry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend; he will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Along with his parents Lowry is preceded in death by his brother, Ron Isbill.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Barbara Isbill; one son, Lowry Thomas ‘Tommy’ Isbill Jr. of Kennesaw, GA; two brothers, Jake Isbill of Madisonville, TN and Ron Isbill of Bremen, GA; a sister, Martha Ann Ridley of Lilburn, GA; two grandchildren, Taylor Isbill and Austin Isbill; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends also survive.
A graveside service honor the life of Mr. Lowry Isbill will be held at elven o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in the Chapel Mausoleum of Pine Ridge Memorial Park with Rev. Kenny Isbill officiating.
The family will receive friends from four o’clock in the afternoon until seven on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home.
