
2025. Marvin was born on August 17, 1937, the son of the late Otto Watson.
Marvin married the love of his life, Peggy Black (Watson) in 1962. The marriage was blessed with three
children. Two sons and one daughter. Marvin and Peggy loved each other and enjoyed sharing
precious moments and adventures together.
An avid lover of the Alabama Football team, Marvin was the offensive tackle for the Legendary
Alabama Football Team. He also played for the World Army Football team while he served in Okinawa
playing in front of the world's largest crowd of 108,000 people. He was also named the Offensive
Lineman of the year. Marvin was also an avid lover of the Atlanta Braves.
Marvin was a lifelong chef and loved cooking. He Opened up Watson’s Gulf Coast Seafood in Acworth.
Marvin was known for his Strawberry Cake, and his Seafood dishes and this famous spaghetti.
Marvin had a knack for connecting with people and he touched many lives. He knew how to pull
resources and apply them to help people. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew
of him.
Marvin is preceded in death by his daughter Genice Hoerchler and his sister Jackie Anderson. He is
survived by his sister Marnell Duane and by his sons, Malcolm Watson and wife Lynda of Rome,
Georgia; James Watson and wife Tatinna of Kennesaw, Georgia. Also, by grandchildren Adam Hall,
Heather Kirkland, Trent Watson, Samantha Watson, Scott Hoerchler and Annabella Watson. His Great
Grandchildren are, Matthew, Addsion, Paisley, Parker, Sarah-Ruth, Jordyn, Kirkland, & Caylee Boone.
The memorial for Marvin Watson will take place at ten thirty on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at Acworth
United Methodist Church. A gathering of friends and family will take place following the conclusion of
the service
