Mary, as a child, was a singer and would perform all over the state of New York with The Big Bands at the time. She worked also as a nurse and a nanny, which is how she met her future husband, Morton B. Guilford, who was raising his daughter as a widower. Though there was a forty year difference, they fell in love and had three more children together. The family moved to Beverly Hills in 1974 and wherever Mary went, people would follow her, asking for her autograph and asking when her next movie would be released. Mary would just laugh and sign their papers anyway. When she and her husband went to Europe, they found they could hardly go anywhere due to the Paparazzi following them everywhere they went. She was also on the Board of Directors for the City of West Hollywood. By the time of Morton's death in 1977, they had been married for 25 wonderful years.
Mary Guilford now joins her husband, Morton Guilford; her father, Arnold Bacon Sr.; Mother Bridget Bacon; Brothers, Arnold Bacon Jr., Frank Bacon, Gary Bacon and sisters, Georgia and Kathy. She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Evelyn T. Guilford, Carolyn Grobe and husband Peter Grobe, Dr. Stacey Davis; Sons, Louis Guilford and David Guilford; grandchildren, Ben Grobe, Richard Guilford, and Rebecca Guilford.
Arrangements under the direction of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, Kennesaw, GA.
