Myron was married to Reta in 1951. They spent a lifetime raising their family together as he ran a hometown grocery store. Myron spent his lunch hour with a homemade peanut butter and syrup – not honey – sandwich that he ate in his pickup truck. Anyone who knew him will recall his love of gardening; his squash and tomatoes – often replanted if frost got to his first planting – always came through. Obviously, he knew about gardening. In March of this year, after 93 years of truly active living, Myron had a stroke. Just the day before his stroke, twenty tomato plants had gone in. His family just shook their heads at his determination to keep going. His wife was his great blessing. None of the family can recall them spending a night apart. He loved and was deeply proud of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Even as his earthly life ended, his legacy lives on in the memories of his family, his friends, and his community. He loved his family deeply; they loved him just as much.
All of Myron’s funeral services are a private family time. The family suggests that Myron be remembered with gifts to the Audubon Society.
