Nell Marie Coty

Nell Marie Coty, age 91, of Acworth, Georgia, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, to be received into her heavenly home. Born on February 4, 1933, in Montgomery, Alabama, Nell lived a life rooted in faith, learning, and love for those around her.

Nell graduated from Alabama State College in 1955 with a Bachelor’s degree in English and a minor in foreign languages. Her passion for education led her to a fulfilling career with the Georgia Department of Education beginning in 1966, where she taught English to students in grades 7–12 in Cherokee and Bartow Counties. Known for her dedication and nurturing spirit, Nell was beloved by her students and colleagues alike.

A devoted member of Acworth Methodist Church, Nell found joy in serving her community and teaching Sunday School for many years. Her steadfast faith and kind heart were a guiding light to all who knew her, reflecting her deep commitment to God and others.

Nell was preceded in death by her mother, Connie Coty; her sister, Mary Coty Stallworth; and her nephew, Travis Stallworth. She is survived by her longtime companion and dearest friend, Dorothy Holloway of Acworth, Georgia, and daughter, Angela. She also leaves behind her niece, Evangeline Knight, and great-nieces Nikki and Tonja, all of Montgomery, Alabama, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews who cherished her dearly.

Nell will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her faith, her love of teaching, and her profound impact on the lives she touched. Her legacy of kindness, wisdom, and compassion will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to her family and friends.

A visitation for family and friends to gather will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 between the hours of 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA.
