To family and friends who knew her best, she will be remembered as a very exceptional and God fearing person.
Ngozi was the daughter of Barrister Dominic and Grace Onyechi.
She was raised with five siblings. She had younger brothers, Dom, Patrick, Nonso, Joseph and sister, Elizabeth with whom she shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young girl growing up in Nigeria, Ngozi had a number of interests. Like most responsible young ladies and as the eldest child, she was brought up to care and look after the house and her family. She was also an active child who took part in Net ball in high school. However, to her, the most fun to be had was simply spending time with her family and close friends.
Ngozi enjoyed her college years and even with all of the academics and family responsibilities, she was able to manage the balancing act. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Botany from The University of Nigeria Nsuka in 1978. She was also blessed to meet her then future husband Oni at Nsuka.
She also pursued graduate school, earning her MA in education in the United States and in Montessori Education from London.
Always considered a great friend to those she knew, she enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. On July 26, 1980 Ngozi exchanged wedding vows with Victor Onochie Bosah at Ridge Church, Accra, Ghana.
Empathic and loyal, she was committed to making her new family happy. Ngozi worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she successfully did everything to fulfill their needs.
She was blessed with three children, Odi, Emeka and Nwando.
Fortunately, she enjoyed what she did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, she worked diligently and did her best to succeed in her career. Her primary occupation and passion through life was spreading the gospel and teaching children. She was a Primary school and Montessori teacher and was able to teach in different schools over 3 continents. She always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
She enjoyed her leisure time studying The Bible, teaching, and preaching Christianity.
Ngozi was also something of a sports fan, mainly because of her children and husband, and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she had the chance to do so.
Top on her list was soccer which she would always watch a game with her son Odi whenever she could. This was especially if her favorite team Barcelona was playing or Arsenal which is his. She would also occasionally watch basketball with her daughter Nwando which was her sport of choice.
Ngozi’s Christian faith was important to her and epitomized what she stood for.
During her time in Georgia, she was a Sunday school teacher at Summit Baptist Church. She continued to pursue her passion spreading the word and teaching Christianity to young children.
Ngozi spent a lot of her life traveling as her husband was a diplomat and his job entailed plenty of it. The traveling was a great cultural and educational experience but other times it was a chance for her and the family to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things.
Some notable visits included Paris, Berlin, Prague, London, Budapest, Warsaw, Lome, Addis Ababa, many US states including The Holy Land experience in Florida, and Accra.
Ngozi passed away on August 15, 2011 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
She fought a brave battle against cancer but had her family by her side the whole time.
She is survived by children Odi and Nwando; husband Victor; brothers Dom, Patrick, Nonso and Joseph. She will be laid to rest in Arlington Memorial Gardens in Sandy Springs, Georgia on September 10, 2011.
Simply stated, Ngozi was a woman of God and a great blessing to everyone she came in contact with. She was a good, kind, and loving person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a welcoming, caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Ngozi leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Ngozi Clara Bosah.
