

Phyllis was born on September 14th, 1953 in Roseburg, Oregon, the oldest child of Phillip and Shirley (Ireland) Flynn. Phyllis grew up in the central valley of California and Washington state, graduating from Clovis High School in Clovis, California. Following high school, she attended flight attendant school before choosing to serve her country in the Army, where she was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. As a proud veteran, Phyllis returned to California to begin college when she met her future husband, 2 Lt Norman A. Frese (USAF) in August 1975 at Castle AFB, CA. They were married 12 weeks later on October 25th, 1975 at her parents home in Winton, CA.
Phyllis was a Christian and an active member of the Jere Whitson Road church of Christ until she passed. She loved to crochet baby blankets, study home remedies, cook, entertain friends and strangers, and make every house we owned a comfortable home filled with love. Being good at anything she ever tried, she ultimately became a superstar homemaker, excelling as a wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years Norman A. Frese, of Brookhaven, PA; son Norman P. Frese of Baxter, TN, daughter-in-law Cassie (Barrett) Frese of Baxter, TN; granddaughter Kiara Frese of Baxter, TN; granddaughter Cailyn Frese of Baxter, TN; daughter Regina (Frese) Bilbrey of Cookeville, TN; daughter Crystal (Frese) of Fulton County, GA; sister Tracy (Flynn/Hughes) Upchurch of Cookeville, TN; nephew Arthur Hughes of Mt. Juliet, TN; niece Jennifer (Hughes) Worgess of Collierville, TN; niece Rebecca Hughes of Cookeville, TN; brother David Flynn of California.
A celebration of life memorial service will be at 1 PM Saturday, July 8th, 2023 at Crest Lawn Funeral Home, Cookeville, TN. Brother Jesse Flowers will officiate. ** The family will receive friends at the Crest Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, July 8th from 11 AM until time of services.
