Robert Raymond Henry

Mr. Henry was born in Youngstown, Ohio to Raymond Joseph and Marcella Mae Henry. Bob earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at Youngstown State University, in Youngstown, OH. His many jobs included serving as an Air Traffic Controller in Oberlin, OH, a Purchasing Director at Life University in Marietta, GA., a claims representative at MetLife in Alpharetta, GA., a sales representative for Aflac, and as the Office Manager at MCT in Acworth, GA. For eleven years he was very active with the Acworth Baseball Association; serving as the Colt director and volunteering to coach multiple teams. He was lovingly known as “Coach Bob”. Mr. Henry had numerous hobbies that included a passion for golf, playing cards, cheering his beloved Cleveland Browns, and working outdoors.

When someone is identified as a coach, certain images come to mind. Bob was a person who always carried a strong sense of duty with him throughout his life. Everyone who was acquainted with Bob knew him as a well-respected man who was very giving of his time and heart within his community.

He lived his life with his feet firmly on the ground. Bob did his best to ensure that his family, friends, loved ones, co-workers, players, and all the lives he touched were given the chance to become better through his never ending coaching and leadership.

Mr. Henry is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Mary G. Henry of Acworth, GA; his four children Bob Henry Jr. of Acworth, GA, Melissa Moore of Dallas, GA, James Henry of Dallas, GA, and Michelle Kent of Whitesburg, GA.; his two Sisters Linda Ference of Mineral Ridge, OH and Sharon Henry of New Middletown, OH.; his eleven adoring grandchildren: Brennan, Trey, Tristan, Alex, Emily, Brady, Caden, Zachary, Chase, Ryan and Camryn.

Family will receive friends from 4:00–8:00 pm Sunday, November 1, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, November 2, 2015 at Winkenhofer as well. The service will be officiated by Father Mark Starr.
