Ruth Parson - went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. She is now also with her beloved family members who went before her: husband of 51 years, Durell Parson; two infant sons; father and mother, Albert Daniel and Mary Maude Harrison Cantrell; brothers, Raymond and Roy Cantrell; and sister, Mary Lee Cantrell Ellis.
Ruth worshipped and served the Lord at Piney Grove Baptist Church from the early 1950’s until recent years when she became disabled. She was Lunchroom Manager at Due West Elementary School for 22 years. Surviving are: daughter and son-in-law, Martin & Dianne Parson Milton; brother, Guy Cantrell; grandchildren and spouses, Jeremy & Sarah Bill and Kyle & Valerie Bill Duncan; great-grandchildren, Emily & Charlie Bill; and one great-granddaughter on the way, Georgia Grace Duncan. Ruth will be greatly missed by all with whom she so graciously shared her life.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 9:00 pm Wednesday, July 25, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday, July 26, at Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1605 Mars Hill Road, Acworth, with Rev. Larry Davis officiating. Internment will be at the church cemetery
