Sammy was an old friend that I had not seen in many years  before his passing. We belonged to the same church, Shady Grove, in Acworth Ga. where I was saved back in 1956. My mom and  dad are buried just a few feet where Sammy is buried and I visit his grave every time I go to visit my mom and dad’s grave. I  have great memories of Sammy and his family in our early church days and sorry I could not have visited him more before his passing. He was a dedicated Christian who loved his Lord and church family.

I’m Ron Woodward from Lexington United Baptist Church and I was at the revival at Shady Grove several years ago and we had dinner at Bro. Sam’s home and I have never been treated any better. Was made to feel at home by Bro. Sam and his sweet wife. My heart goes out to her and her family. May God bless and keep you in His care.

I am so sorry to hear the news of Sam's passing,  He was a good person and family man. He will be missed.  I still miss his mom and dad.  Inez meant the world to me.  My prayers go out to Nancy and the entire Hester family.  May he rest in peace.

Sam was a dear and close friend to our family. I was named after Nancy, so I always considered them both to be my God Parents. I always admired his construction talents and the knowledge he had about real estate and just about anything else you asked him about. Sam was not shy about sitting down and talking to you about anything. He loved to share stories, educate you on various matters, advise you on situations in life and just plain talk in general. He had a bubbly personality to me and loved to joke and carry on with us. I loved to talk to him and even more so listen to him. I know Sam loved to eat good food too. Most of my memories with Nancy and Sam have always involved eating together somewhere usually. He was such a hoot and Nancy has always been close to my heart in many ways. I will miss Sam greatly! My heart goes out to Nancy, Dana, Chris and the grandkids in this time of grief. I do rejoice in the fact that Sam is with my father, Doyle Calhoun, and one of their good friends, Dan Fletcher, now in heaven. These three buddies all died within months of each other after over 40 years of friendship together. Fly high my dear friend and until we meet again on that great shore I will forever remember your infectious smile and hearty laugh. All of our love to the family and friends of Nancy and Sam. May God bless you and hold you all tight.

Nancy and family.  My heart breaks for all of you with the loss of Sam.  My memory of him is that he was always there to answer construction questions, or inspecting a home that a family member was interested in buying.  One of my dear friends used Sam Hester Construction for many of her home repairs and improvements.  The work that was done was always so perfect.  Sam was one of the good guys; he will be missed.  

Bill and I have such fond memories of our trips in the RV  with Sam and Nancy.  They were great adventures with good friends and we will cherish those times. Sam was such a good friend to both of us and even though he would tease us,  we enjoyed  his sense of humor over these many years.  Our sympathy to Nancy and all of the Hester family.  

So sorry to hear about the passing of Sammy. I haven’t seen Sammy in many years but I  knew his mom and dad and enjoyed his friendship in earlier years of our life. He was a dedicated Christian who loved the Lord and attending church at Shady Grove the same church where I was saved back in 1956.  May God bless his family during this time of their loss. Nancy, our condolences to you and your precious family.  You have been my best friend for over 50 years.  I have not been able to visit with you as much as I would have liked over the years but that has not diminished my love or caring for you.  Thank you for your years of faithful friendship to me.  I am so sorry that you have lost Sam in this life but you know where he is and will see him again.  May God bless you and your family and give you comfort as your grieve this earthly  loss of Sam.  As he rests in the arms of Jesus, you will see him again.  I love you.

Sam was a fine man & loved his church & church family.  He will defi itely be missed!

Sam always called me “Yankee”, a term I took as endearing.  He was a good man and we will all miss him.

I will miss Sam's concern and interest in everything.  We shared common ground in our political beliefs.  He was a wise man.  Because I know that LOVE never dies, I know that Sam's LOVE for all stays here while he receives an eternal measure of LOVE from our Creator.
