Sue (Grier) Maynard

Sue was a hardworking, intelligent, and loving woman whose life was centered on faith, family, and the steady kindness she extended to everyone she met. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome—she accepted everyone, and to Sue, no one was ever a stranger.

Sue devoted 38 years of dedicated service to Kroger, where she faithfully served in many roles before retiring as Deli Manager. Her strong work ethic and pride in doing things well were evident not only throughout her career, but also in the way she cared for her family and friends.

Sue was married to her best friend and the love of her life, Ronnie Maynard, for 60 wonderful years. Together they raised three children—Tony, Michael, and Renee’—whom she loved deeply. She found immense joy in her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent together as a family.

In both quiet moments and joyful gatherings, Sue found happiness in reading and cooking for those she loved. She especially loved visiting Panama City Beach, where annual family trips to the beach created cherished memories. She was a devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on. Sue also looked forward to family reunions with both the Grier and Maynard families, holding close the bonds that meant so much to her.

Sue was a lifetime member of Bethel Baptist Church, where her faith and commitment remained steadfast throughout her life.

Sue is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Maynard; sons, Tony Maynard (Jamie) and Michael Maynard; daughter, Renee’ Maynard Petee (Jeremy); brothers, Billy Grier and Ellis Grier; sister, Dean McClure (Emmett); grandchildren, Natalie Maynard, Emma Maynard, and Rayna Petee; best friend and cousin, Marty Thrasher (Steve); best friend, Murle Boehlke (Dave); and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Ruby Grier; and her brothers, Roger Grier, Jimmy Grier, and Hoyt Grier.

Visitation will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, GA 30152, on March 3, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A Funeral Service will be held at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home on March 4, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

A Committal Service will follow at the Family Cemetery, 7th Street, Emerson, GA 30137, on March 4, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will include Michael Maynard, Jeremy Petee, Bruce McClure, Brian McClure, Stacy Grier, and Greg Grier
