Terry Alton Newby. Born 11-15-1951 to Alton and Grace Newby in Chattanooga. Grace passed away when he was still a baby. Alton married Nell Caldwell, who raised Terry and his sister, Chris, as her own. He spent summers in Athens while his mother studied for her degree in Library Science. He was a boy scout and enjoyed camping. He was a good baseball pitcher. As a teenager he was a counselor at church camp and made life-long friends. He played basketball in high school and even managed the basketball team. After college at West Ga., he moved to Atlanta where he met his soon-to-be wife Connie, in 1978. He has a son Nick, whom he was so proud of kind and generous and smart, successful in sports and in his career. Together the three of them had a wonderful life, traveling first to National Parks all over the country, then all over Europe, including the Alps. He loved football and Australian Shepherds, cats not so much. He is survived by his wife Connie, son Nicholas, sister Christine Feldman, niece Courtney Lecthers, and nephew Brennan Lecthers.
