Thomas is survived by his wife, Deborah Richards; son Thomas R. Richards, Jr.; and daughter Dawn Marie Johns; brother Douglas Richards; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Thomas was preceded in death by his son David William Richards.
An American Patriot, Thomas was a retired WW II Navy Veteran and served in the Pacific Theater. He continued his support of our great country as a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and the American Legion, Post 160 in Smyrna. Thomas was a longtime member of Shiloh Hills Baptist Church and believed in serving his fellow man which he did as a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. Thomas never met a stranger and if you were blessed to meet him you left knowing you had a friend.
A visitation for Thomas will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. A chapel service will occur Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm, 2950 North Cobb Pkwy, Kennesaw, Georgia 30152. A burial with military honors will follow the chapel service at Pineridge Memorial Park, Kennesaw, GA.
