Vernelle Grizzle Seabolt was born June 13, 1925 in Lumpkin County, GA, the daughter of Ben and Minnie (Lance) Grizzle. She grew up in the Dahlonega area where she met and married the love of her life, AC Seabolt, on June 14, 1942. After the birth of their son Kenneth, Vernelle and AC moved to Atlanta. She worked for Krafts Foods for over forty years and retired as the executive secretary to the vice president. Vernelle and AC travelled extensively after retiring. Neither of them had ever been on an airplane and for their first flight they chose to go to Jerusalem with their church group! After that, family members joked that they had to make an appointment to visit with the happy couple because they were "in the air" so much! AC and Kenneth died within 9 months of each other in 2004/2005. Despite great sadness, Vernelle continued to live a full and independent life, participating in the senior group at her church, Mountain Park Baptist, and traveling with friends. She moved to Cartersville to be with her family in 2010 and again became involved in the church, Tabernacle Baptist, and enjoyed being part of family life. She did slow down a bit in the last years, but one thing she never missed was the Thursday hair salon appointment. She was always a beautiful lady and wanted to look her best. As she began to need more help with the activities of daily living, her precious caregiver, Kim Human, provided loving and gentle care for her. Our family will forever be grateful for her care and for helping Vernelle to have such a good quality of life this last year.
Vernelle is survived by her daughter in law, Sharon, grandson Larry (JoLyn) Seabolt, granddaughter Lisa (Mark) Bagnell, and great granddaughters Kimberly (Chris) Human, Ashlee Bagnell, Brittany Bagnell, and Brooke Seabolt, and special loved ones Monica and Jackson Whitfield and Tara Almacy.
Arrangements under the direction of Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, Kennesaw, GA.
