It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and treasured friend. Arthur William “Buck” Griffiths passed away at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital on August 29th, 2015 with his family by his side.
Buck is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Joan, sons Bruce (Dianne) and Perry (Myrna), and daughter Melodie (Roger) Doucette. He is also survived by his sisters Dorothy “Sal” in BC, and Vivian (Guy) of Kenora, and their families. His grandchildren Nancy (Lance) Hatch, Anthony (Ashley) Griffiths, Amber Griffiths, Alexis (Phil) Boucha, and Andrea Doucette. His memory will also be cherished by his great grandchildren: Anaïya, Allen, Jackson, Kamden, Christopher, Heath, and Maggie. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and very dear friends

Arthur is predeceased by his parents Mildred and Arthur Griffiths, Mother and Father-in-law Annie and William Fadden, his brothers Allen “Pete” and Albert “Bill”, his sisters Martha “Toots” and Edith “Dolly”. He is also predeceased by numerous other aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
In his early life, he worked at various construction and forestry jobs around Kenora. Approximately 40 years ago, he established his own company “Bucks Backhoeing” which he was very proud of.
Buck showed us the human strength in his ability to battle cancer for many years. He taught us all great lessons about life including the value of hard work and determination. He was one of the most inspiring people that we will ever be lucky to know and love so dearly.
A Celebration of his life will be held Friday, September 4th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre in Kenora. Honorary pallbearers are Harry Smith, Dick Tolton, John Skeavington, Dave Schram, Floyd Comrie, Rudy Roulston, and Jim Bjarneson.
