August 22,1971 – June 19, 2011

With his wife at his side, suddenly on June 19, 2011 at the age of 39, Art was taken to a better place. He suffered for the last three years with complications due to his diabetes and renal failure. He was strong until the end and wanted to watch his kids grow up.

Art was born and raised in Kenora. Growing up in Lakeside, he spent most of his childhood enjoying the outdoors. He was independent and went out on his own at an early age. He met his wife Faye at Beaver Brae Secondary School in 1993. They married in 1997. He was known as the “parts guy to see” at Canadian Tire. He worked there for eight years, before his illness started getting the better of him. He spent the last year and a half close to home taking care of his kids who were the “apples of his eye” He will be greatly missed by all who got to know him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years Faye, daughter Brianna, sons Alexander and Zachary and with a heavy heart, the daughter he never got to know. Also left to mourn are his step father Ole (Rita) Beacham. His sister Shannon Martin, brothers Larry Beacham (Maryanne), Jimmy Beacham (Sabrina)and his baby sister Alberta Bishop (Phil).

He will be missed especially his mother in law Donna Bennett, “grandma” Halley and the Halley family who were always concerned about him and his health, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends too many to mention.

Art was predeceased by his father Arthur Martin in 1970, his mother Gwen Beacham in 1987 and his big brother Grant Martin in 2000. As well as many others who were dear to Art.

Visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 7:00 -9:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre at 2:00 p.m. with Father Rudy Manaloto officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
