Kaye was born in Watkum, Ontario and moved to Kenora in 1956 from Red Lake, Ontario. Kaye was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Kaye loved life in Kenora and was involved in many activities such as curling, bridge club, working at the cantina at the Kenora hockey rink and she managed the restaurant at the Kenora Golf Club for several years. She was an avid quilter, exceptional gardener, joke teller, musician, curler and boy could she entertain! Kaye still holds a curling club record for skipping the only team that had an eight ender scored against her, and still she won the game! She loved to fish, and enjoyed cleaning and cooking them even more.
Kaye’s real passion was cooking. We all can remember a dish she prepared for us that was by far the best we ever had! She was always a thoughtful and giving person, who would put others ahead of herself. She loved all of her family, especially the new generation of Sinkins’. Kaye was always very interested in their lives no matter where they lived. She took pride in the fact that she maintained her independence until she was 93! She instilled in all her family to always treat people as you wanted to be treated.
We would like to thank the staff at Birchwood Terrace, Kenora District Hospital and Park Street Apartments for such great care and compassion.
