Mary Christine Murray (James)

Mary Christine Murray (James) a resident of Kenora, Ontario passed away at Lake of the Woods District Hospital on January 02, 2013 with her boys by her side.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard on November 20, 1989, brother Bruce and sisters Olive and Dorothy.

Chris is survived by her sons David (Cherun), Donald (Barb), granddaughter Kelle, grandson Jason (Kara), and great granddaughter Gwen, brother Bill, special friends Theresa and Chase and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born October 05, 1922 in Walkerton, Ontario and was 90 years of age.

Chris was a registered nurse receiving her education from Toronto Western Hospital and graduating in December 1944. She married Richard Elliott Murray on August 10, 1946 and spent her honeymoon the winter of 1947 cooking for and looking after a camp 110 miles N.E. of Pickle Lake.

Chris and Richard moved to Kenora in 1955 to raise their boys David and Donald, she was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church also volunteering for many local organizations including the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Auxilliary.

Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Rod Lamb officiating.

As Chris donated to many charities, in lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations to one’s favourite charity is preferred.
