

Douglas McDonald
May 31, 1951 - June 27, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Douglas McDonald. He is predeceased by parents Eddie McDonald & Mary Ann McDonald (Kelly), brothers: Ralph McDonald, Jack McDonald and Jim McDonald, Bella McDonald, John McDonald, Infant Son McDonald, daughter; Joanne McDonald and other predeceased beloved family members.
Douglas re-established a campground at Goshawk Landing through years of hard work, which they both called home. Before that he was a supervisor for the Crisis Intervention Team and a Band Manager. He also loved working with numbers in the finance department and a former Chief of Wabaseemoong. His passion was going out on a boat on One Man Lake for hunting and fishing adventures his Hobbies were reading and watching wrestling on tv. He enjoyed visits from friend Tom Land.
Roughly the past ten years Doug's health worsened he suffered seizures, strokes then he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and was place in TB care home then transferred to Birchwood Terrance in Kenora.
He leaves his wife of 39 years, Rosie McDonald along with Rosie's children that Douglas loved as his own. He is survived by his step children, Georgina McDonald and family, Gary M Scott & family, Arlene Chartrand and family, Tiffany Langan and family; Douglas is survived by his sons, Kris O Cheek and family, Jonathan S. McDonald and family, Terry McDonald and Todd McDonald and family; his sisters, Delores Paishk & family, Doris McDonald & family; his cousins Jessie McDonald & family, Iris Kelly and family, Billy McDonald and family, Yvonne McDonald and family, Florence Bond and family, Paula French and family, Rose Kelly and family and Margret Quewezance & family.
A wake service to take place at the School Gym in Whitedog First Nation on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 11 a.m. Burial at Goshawk Landing will follow service. Pastor Frank Kowal will officiate service.
