I am so glad that I had the opportunity to get to know you and hang out together at Sir. Sandford. You were the best lab partner. So much fun and such a great sense of humor. I've thought of you often and fondly over the years. So sorry we didn't get to see each other again. You will be missed my friend.

Very sorry to learn of Doug's passing. I went to college with him in Lindsay, and he was the funniest guy in the class and a joy to be around. I am sure that he was a great family man and friend. The world has lost a special soul.

Laurie, Justin and Mathew... I was saddened to hear of Dougs passing. I was truly blessed to have shared many outdoor adventures with Doug,....we had a lot of laughs, some beers and even caught a few fish from time to time.
He was a good husband, father, and  friend that will truly be missed.

Laurie, Mathew, Justin and family, we're sorry for your loss, it's been a long journey the last few years for you. I knew Doug a bit from college and further through friends here in Kenora. Back in 2001 my 80 year old mother tripped on the steps at the post office. Who showed up but Officer Doug to help a feisty lady that needed help but didn't want it. Doug helped her up and carefully talked her into getting her angle checked out at the hospital. Thanks Doug. RIP

Years ago I was lucky enough to work with him and have him as a mentor. Doug taught me a lot about work but more about life than I realized at the time. His outlook on life has made a huge impact on me and I am forever grateful for that. I am so sorry for your immense loss, he was a great man and will be missed by many. Thinking of you all.

Doug was a great cousin and an amazing man!  Always enjoyed spending time with Doug, Laurie and Family!  Great times and always awesome laughs!  Excellent to see that Doug became a Grandpa as family was very important to him. He shared his joy about it every time we saw him! Doug was a great friend and co-worker who always treated everyone with respect.  I remember my dad's last Christmas at Hennesey Terrace 10 years ago when Laurie catered the Christmas dinner for the residents and Doug dressed up as Santa Claus.  He was so great with all the residents, making them laugh and my parents really enjoyed it.

Laurie, Matthew and Justin and families, we are so very sad to hear that our friend of so many years is gone.  He told the best "biker stories" and kept us laughing as long as he was in the room.
