

Ernie will be lovingly remembered by his children, Perry, Jonathan, Becky, Lisa, Randy, Marion (Kinew), Clayton, Ernie, Calvin (Liza), Tarl, Christina; siblings, Daniel (Andrea), Chotti (Debbie), Irvin (Judy), Eugene, Robert, Arthur, Judis, Tom, Jeannie (Howard), Lucy, Mary Jane, Josephine; Grandchildren, Chase, Sienna, Nevaeh, Nyla, Julian, Harley, Donovan, Josh, Delaynie, Lynden, Matthew, Blake, Tayah; great grandchildren, Urijah, Malaky, Brayden, Jade, Zayne, Olivia, Juliette, Luka, Teja; special friend Cathy; many nieces , nephews, cousins and friends.
He is predeceased by his wife Barbara; his parents, Norman and Adele; siblings, Marion, Calvin, Benjamin, Douglas; granddaughter Taneeka; great grandchildren, Grant, Remi, Wilfred.
Ernie was born in Winnipeg, MB on May 13th 1951. He was raised by his grandparents. He briefly attended Residential School in Pine Creek MB, then raised in the logging camps with his parents and siblings. He moved to Wauzhushk Onigum Nation with his wife where he resided till his passing. He was known though out the land as a great bushman, he worked in logging, construction, and firefighting. He loved to hunt in his younger years. He will be remembered greatly by the storytelling, always ending his stories with “true story-no bullshit”. He was a loving kind man; father figure to many. His home was always open to anyone in need.
Service will be Sunday, October 20th, 2024 at Golden Eagle Bingo hall in Wauzhushk Onigum Nation.
Service will start at 11:00am and a feast at 2:00pm. Family encourage woman wear ribbon skirt, no flowers, can make a donation to the Kenora Fellowship Centre in his honour.
Pallbearers will be Danny, Jeremy, Joven, Clayton, Ernie, Calvin, Tarl.
