It is great sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn Paul, May 20th, 2015. She passed away at the Lake of the Woods
District Hospital after a brief illness. Evelyn was born on June 30,1926 in Kenora ON. She is predeceased by her husband
William Henry (Harry) Paul 1909 -2001. She was a lovingmother to Doreen of Kenora and Allan Paul (Lora Urbani) of
Comox BC. She will be dearly missed by her 2 grandchildren,Alexander and Danielle.
Evelyn is survived by her sister Christine Brown (Elk Point AB), sisters in law Eleanor McDonald and Annette McDonald
(Kenora ON) and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Emma and William,brothers Allan, Donald, Delbert and sisters Edna Lajeunesse and
Marjorie.
In her younger years she worked for Johnson's Pharmacy and Bill's Shoe Box to name a few. She was a professional
seamstress for a number of businesses and personal clients and friends benefited from her talents. She was meticulous about the
quality of her work. Family and friends enjoyed the knitting,handy work and the crafty little chicks at Easter.
Evelyn worked for Elections Canada and enumerated far andwide for many years.
She was a dedicated member of Lakewood Credit Union from its inception and volunteered for many Credit Union days and
other events. In the early days of Puppy Love, Evelyn could befound in the shop with Doreen bathing and drying many dogs.
She worked tirelessly for Knox United Church. She created delicious edibles such as Christmas cakes and puddings for the
UCW teas and bazars. She dressed many a doll for these occasions.
She loved the blueberry and strawberry patches and shared the jams and jellies she made. In her later years when it was
difficult for her to pick, she appreciated when the neighbors brought strawberries and blueberries to her.
A Memorial Service will be held at Knox United Church at 11:00 am on Saturday July 4th, 2015 with Eric Matheson officiating.
Internment will take place at a later time.
