James Shapland

It is with great sadness in our hearts to announce that James (Jim) William Shapland passed away in the early hours on Sunday April 27th, 2025, after another courageous post-surgery battle at the Heath Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, at the age of 72 years.

He is survived by his children, Owen and wife Sheila, Krystal and husband Christopher, and his grandchildren Noah, Alexis, Paige, Faith, Jessi, and Xander, his sisters, Eva and husband Doug, Barbara and husband Neil, and Debbie and husband Craig.

He was predeceased by his parents, James and Isabelle Shapland, and sister, Darlene.

Jim was born in Kenora, ON. He worked at the jail until retirement, belonged to the Kenora Legion, and loved to be outdoors, fishing and hunting. What he truly loved the most were his grandchildren. They were extremely lucky to have him in their lives and they will miss him dearly.

Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:00am at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre with Pastor Cathy Giroux officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Kenora Legion Branch # 13.
