Jonathan Murray Cowley
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our friend, father, and husband. Son and brother, our dear Jon.
Jonathan Murray Cowley (Waaswaygoonayaas, of the Duck Clan), passed suddenly on January 16, 2017.
He is predeceased by his grandmother, Sarah, his father, Michael, his grandfather, Jimmy, his stepson, Beau. He was raised by Marg and Louie Loranger. He leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Roberta, and his children, Willow, Sunshine, Colt, and Brooks. His mother, Susan, his brothers, Oscar (Karen) and Jay, his sister, Merritt, and numerous cousins nephews and nieces. Jon was self-assured, strong, determined, and very hard working. His family always came first. Everyday was for the kids.
He gave them love and security, and did everything for them. Jon loved animals, especially his cats, he made sure they were loved too. Jon loved to work, he had many jobs over his 43 years because he was determined to work. He stayed with Totem Resorts as a guide for 23 years. He enjoyed staying home, watching movies with his children, chauffeuring the kids and their friends, long drives, he loved to play loud music in the van. Jon confided in friendship with his guide friends, his brother in law, Wayne, and his brothers. Jon loved all animals. He loved to be on the lake, he often spoke of how he loved it, the water, the sun, the clouds. He was a great father, a loving husband, brother, and son. He was so strong, he was our rock. We love you forever and always.
