Mrs. Marie Lorraine McPherson Morrison

February 8, 1951 – March 30, 2016

With extreme sadness, we announce the passing of Marie on March 30, 2016, at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, from a short battle with cancer.

Marie leaves behind her daughter Karen; granddaughters Vanessa, Amanda and Tianna; sisters Eva, Marie, Stella and Sarah; brothers Peter and John; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents Lawrence and Janet; sons Bill and Kevin; sisters Mary, Dorothy and Margaret; and brothers Isaac, Walter and George.

Marie enjoyed helping other people. She worked with the O.P.P., NeChee Centre Street Patrol, the Fellowship Centre, making Kenora home. She attended Calvary Church and Women’s Aglow.

She loved family gatherings, visiting her sisters, fishing, camping, playing crib, sewing, collecting dolls, making bannock and the Stampede (Calgary). She travelled to many places including Alaska, California, Oregon, Yukon, Saskatoon, Calgary, and overseas to Israel.

Our family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital, St. Boniface Hospital and Health Sciences Centre.

Memorial services will take place on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Calvary Church at 2:00pm. Viewing and fellowship will begin on Monday morning at 9:30am. Interment will follow the service at Lake of the Woods Cemetery.

She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Until we meet again.
