

With profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mark Ngaya at the Lake of the Woods District Hospital on March 8, 2026, with his loving family by his side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Mark will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Laila, his cherished children Frederick Troy, Marielle and Bradpitt. He is also survived by his parents, Muriel and Bernard, siblings, Lily Mae, Eunice and Zephania, along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and close friends both in Canada and the Philippines who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
Mark was born on May 24, 1981, in Barlig Mountain Province, Philippines, to parents Bernard and Muriel Ngaya. From a young age, he was known for his kind heart, humility and love for his family, qualities that remained with him throughout his life.
Mark moved to Canada in 2015 along with his children to be reunited with his wife, Laila, who had been working in Canada for years. Together, they began a new chapter of their lives, building a home centered on love, dedication, and family. Mark worked hard to provide for his family and was deeply committed to ensuring a better future for his children.
In 2022, Mark was diagnosed with Stage 2 brain cancer. Despite this heartbreaking news, he faced his illness with remarkable courage and resilience, and his faith in the Lord deepened, giving him strength and hope throughout his journey.
Mark will be remembered for his warm smile, generosity, courage, and the love he shared with his family and friends. His life was a testament to resilience, love and faith.
Mark will be brought home to the Philippines where he will be laid to rest in his hometown surrounded by family and loved ones. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects to Mark Ngaya on March 13, 2026, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre from 5:00 -9:00 PM before his journey home.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff who cared for Mark, as well as to everyone who offered prayers, love and support during this difficult time.
