With her son by her side, Mom passed away peacefully on August 2nd, 2014. Mom was born on August 27, 1936 in Guernsey, Saskatchewan and moved to Kenora in 1943. Mom was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 12 for 53 years.

She is survived by daughter Karen (Bruce Tomlinson, grandchildren Christopher and Gabrielle), Daughter Kathy (Curtis Livingstone, and granddaughter Erin), and her son Roger (Dawn and grandchildren Jordan and Makenna).sister Yvonne and husband Keith Kerr and family, brother in-law Sylvio Turcotte and family nieces Joanne and Polly Toth and the Toth and Biehn Families.

She was predeceased by her husband Lionel Shine and her parents Sidney and Pauline Hill, her two brothers Vernon Hill and Larry Hill (Carol Dufresne), her three sisters, Elaine (Frank Greed), Audrey (Joe Toth), and Hazel Turcotte.

The family would like to thank Dr. Dana Walters and all the nurses in dialysis and 2nd east unit of the Lake of the Woods District Hospital for their kindness and caring support. A private family ceremony will take place at the Lake of the Woods Cemetery on August 6, 2014. In lieu of flowers donations to Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
