Her nine grandchildren Jennifer, Rebecca, Kristine, Kimberly, Dawne, Jamie, Nikki, Dylan and Blair and 25 great grandchildren, her sister Joyce, her brother Ray, foster sister Sandra, her god children and numerous nieces, nephews, and numerous nieces, nephews, family and many friends.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents, her infant son Howard, her sisters Edith, Mabel and Doreen and her brother Donald. Her first husband Maurice Beasant and most recently her second husband Leon Morin.
Shirley loved life and made us all conscious of how very blessed we are.
After the kids were in school Mom joined the work force at Sears, Zellers, Brennen’s and Donny B’s.
Her greatest joy was when she and Dad took over the Skyline store on Airport Road and turned it into their own little mini-mart.
If you were ever a customer of Mom’s you also became a friend- Mom had the ability to gather everyone into her fold. She was never too busy to listen and she was known to express her opinion if she felt it was something that you needed to hear.
Mom loved her family with all of her heart and took great pride in all of her children and their accomplishments.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. As they had with Papa Leon, the little ones would always come running to get a special sucker and a big hug from their nanny.
We could not have asked for a more loving, kind and thoughtful mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mom was a life long member of St. Alban’s Cathedral. She was also a member of the A.C.W. and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Services for Mom will take place at St. Alban’s Cathedral on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Lake of the Woods Cemetery to follow.
In lieu of flowers and if friends so desire, donations may be made to St. Alban’s Cathedral or the Lake of the Woods District Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
“This life for me is truly passed
I loved you all to the very last
Weep not for me But courage take
And love one another for my sake”
