Tanya Dawn Moon (March)
March 1976 - March 2013
It is with sad hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved girl Tanya. She was born on November 28, 1976 in St. Catherine's Ontario to Margaret March and Charles Taft.
Tanya had many accomplishments in her life but the greatest were her children Ashley and William, her love for them was unconditional. She was an amazing mother who taught her children well, spending many happy days assisting William and Ashley with their school work and providing them with all the tools needed to meet life's many adversities.
Tanya had a love for nature and all God's creatures great and small, she would always swoop in to save even the smallest spider or bug. Fishing and camping were her passion and she spent a wonderful month last summer at Rushing River Provincial Park enjoying nature at its best in the furthest area of the park. She enjoyed reading good books and loves watching "Animal Planet" and the History Channel. She had a keen interest in current affairs, good conversations and the plight of all of the less fortunate children in the world.
As of late Tanya had tirelessly researched her ancestry. This lead her to find and communicate with a distant relative abroad, in Australia, with whom she was able to exchange photos, information and stories of family.
Tanya was and extremely independent person who did not like to lean too heavily on anyone. She always endeavored to do her best at everything.
Tanya is survived by her two children Ashley and William and their father Stephen. Also surviving are her father Charles Taft and her aunt Tanis Rebbetoy, her parents Janice and Allan McDonald, sisters; Kris Reynard, Pat Hudson, Tannis Anne Romaniuk (Greg), Leanne of St. Catherine's, Ginnie Hintz (James) and Jessica Smith (Ernie) and her in laws Linda and Ray Moon, Shannon and Jamie.
Tanya was predeceased by her mother Margaret and her grandparents Elizabeth Agnes Atkinson Johnson and William Johnston.
Through the years there would be many people at the top of a list whom she would want to thank, among them; Dr. Peter Harland who was always there for her, Dr. Tim Wehner and the staff at the Keewatin Medical Centre, Brent Dion and the Respiratory staff at Lake of the Woods District Hospital, the staff at Shopper's Home Health Care for all their help and special deliveries to Rushing River, her special friends Joanne Gustafson and Crystal Malmo, she especially appreciated the help of her two sisters in heart Ginnie and Jessica who both supported and encouraged her. She truly loved her deliveries of Tim Horton's extra large double doubles.
Tanya was loving and caring daughter and friend to the end.
Cremation has taken place at her request. There will be a private family service at St. Alban's Cathedral with The Very Reverend Dean James Dugan officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations to Ronald McDonald House or The Kenora Humane Society would be appreciated.
