Thank you Bill for all your help in my research.  You were the only knowlegable
reference for my work...someone who knew all the tea estates and almost all of the English and Scottish managers and asst. managers who worked in the Darjeeling and Assam gardens.  Imagine you even knew of our grandfather!!

Remembering a loving brother
It was with great sadness to receive news of Billy,s sudden and tragic death.
  My mind immediately froze in time to our happy childhood at Burmiak in a secure and loving family Later we went our separate ways but still remained as a family
  Martin and I will always remember how Billy was always there to calm down his fractious siblings. He always did this in his kind and gentle way Billy is still here with us all. His wonderful spirit will be with us all forever

Billy was a loving and devoted husband to my sister Rose and a great brother-in-law and friend to me. Billy was always an eloquent and well spoken gentleman. As long as I've known him he was always cool and calm and never allowed anything to aggravate  him. It has been a terrible shock and a great loss to all of us on hearing of his sudden passing. Billy will always be remembered as a great guy who staunchly stood by his wife and family through thick and thin facing any and all obstacles squarely and never quitting his post. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him. R.I.P. John and Shirley Kingsley and family.

I first met Bill, Rose and Family when I went to work for Cominco in Pine Point, NWT  around 1978.  My wife Aileen is Rose's sister and we soon found ourselves spending lots of time together.  Bill was a millright and I was a pipefitter and we also worked together on many projects.  We went on alot of family outings during our time in NWT visiting Hay River and BBQing and picnicking in various local parks.  Aileen, Janice, our new addition Bill and myself left Pinepoint a few years later to settle in Winnipeg while the Holl family settled in Kenora.  Even though there was a bit of distance between us we spent many weekends travelling between Winnipeg and Kenora for family visits.  

Our family moved to Calgary about 20 years ago and although the distance was greater we still kept in touch. Aileen and I spent several summers parking our motorhome in The Holl's yard spending 3 or 4 weeks at a time visiting.  We shared great times with Bill and Rose during those summers, garage saleing, good talks over tea and family BBQ's shared with the rest of the family.  These are times we will all treasure.  

The Holl and Barling family made a trip out to Calgary in 2010 for two weeks.  We all had a great time visiting Drumheller and Banff.   It was a big family trip with almost the whole family coming out.  We have lots of good memories of Bill travelling around enjoying the tourist hot spots.

Bill was a good brother in law, uncle and most of all friend to our family and he will never be forgotten.  We will miss you,

A guiding light shining is what you are,loving husband, devoted father & a friend dear to our hearts.
Forever we shall never part as a path has been chosen as we strive, a guiding light keeping the memories strong & very much alive. No one can replace you, you are the best, for now you are at peace as you are laid to rest. We'll miss you, love you rest in peace a son, brother, husband, dad & a grandfather always now & forever.
Dear dad, we will cherish the memories we have made together & always in our hearts you will remain.
