Ernest "Papitas" Salazar gained his wings on Thursday May 2, 2024 at 1:43 pm. In the comfort of his home in the company of his children, grandchildren and family by his side. He was born on February 6, 1956 at 9:30 am in Raymondville, Texas. And moved to Biola California at the age of 8 years old. He only completed grade 8th, as he dropped out of school to help his farmworker parents in the fields. He learned auto mechanics at a young age and made a living as a mechanic for over 25 years. He became a father at the young age of 17. He went on to have a total of 6 children. Corina, Maria, Bianca, Michelle, Aaron and Veronica. In his spare time he enjoyed working and rebuilding cars. Cruising through the park listening to oldies. He also loved the company of family, friends and "many" women. At the age of 38 his life drastically changed when he suffered a massive stroke. He spent the rest of his days watching old westerns and enjoyed a meal or 2 or 3 at his favorite restaurant "Ole Frijole". He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, mother, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
He is survived by 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 6 children, 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed and loved by all of us.
A viewing for Ernesto will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Palm Memorial - Kerman Chapel, 538 South Madera Avenue, Kerman, CA 93630. A celebration of life Friday, May 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 538 South Madera Avenue, Kerman, CA 93630. Burial will follow at Golden Sunset Memorial Park, 310 S Goldenrod Ave, Kerman, CA 93630.
Serving as pallbearers are Justin Moore, Bruce Onato, Serenity Salazar, Sheleigha Moore, Aaron Galvan, Joseph Moore, Sierra Moore, Chris Moreno, Leo Jauriqui and Louie Fernandez.
