Jacinta Mejia

Jacinta Mejia, 97, of Kerman, California, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2026. Born on October 15, 1928, in Alamo Texas, Jacinta lived a long and beautiful life centered around faith, family, and love. A devoted Catholic, she carried a quiet strength and kindness that touched everyone who knew her.

To many Jacinta was more than a mother or grandmother-she was like a second mom. Her home was always open, and no one ever left hungry. She showed her love through the meals she lovingly prepared, and the warmth she created for everyone around her. Her generous spirit, gentle guidance, and caring heart will always be remembered.

Jacinta found joy in life’s simple moments. She loved spending time with her family, cooking for those she loved, and tending to her garden with patience and pride. She also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino, where the outing and time spent with loved ones meant just as much as the game itself. Above all, Jacinta treasured the time she shared with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the greatest blessings of her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jesus Perales Mejia, her infant son Jesus Mejia Jr, and daughter in law Patricia Mejia.

She is lovingly survived by her children: Paul Mejia (Frances), Manuel Mejia, Oralia Mejia, Richard Mejia, Bertha Schonder (Robert), Mike Mejia, (Leticia). She also leaves behind 11 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren, all of whom were deeply blessed to have shared so many wonderful years and memories with her.

Her love, wisdom and presence will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 15437 W Kearney Blvd. Kerman, Ca 93630, on March 19, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. The Rosary will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment

Burial will take place at Mountain View Cemetery, 1411 W Belmont Ave, Fresno, Ca 93728, March 19, 2026, from 12:00 p.m.- 1:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Richard Mejia, Jaymie Rogers, Michael Mejia, Andrew Mejia, JR Mejia, and Anthony Ponce.
