Alice Anne Mueller was born December 3, 1942, to Herbert Frederick Oscar and Lillie B. (Goesch) Mueller. She was born in beautiful downtown Kimball when the hospital was above where Chestnut Street Gifts is now located. She was baptized January 3, 1943, at Zion Lutheran Church ten miles east of Grover, Colorado, and near Pawnee Buttes. She was confirmed in her faith the spring of 1956 at First English Lutheran Church in Kimball. She spent the first eight years of her life on the family farm 13 miles south and two miles west of Bushnell. She attended District 35, a one-room country school. She has been very thankful to have lived in this community where everyone was very caring. When Alice was eight, the family moved to the Schneider place west of Kimball. She attended District 5 school, another one-room schoolhouse. When she was in the eighth grade, the school was struck by lightning in October and had considerable damage as the fire trucks were unable to get to the school because of the flooding. She and her brother Billy enjoyed going down to the Union Pacific tracks and waving at the steam engine engineers. Alice attended Kimball County High School and graduated in 1960. She attended Midland Lutheran College and Colorado State University. She married Donald Ray Evertson August 20, 1961. They lived in Fort Collins, Colorado, from September until March and on the farm northwest of Kimball from March until September for four years until Don had finished his degree in 1965. Their two oldest sons, Paul and Kirk, were born while they lived in Fort Collins, and David was born after they moved back to Kimball. In June of 1969, the family moved to the Aue ranch east of Kimball where they have resided since. Don and Alice enjoyed camping with their fifth wheel for a number of years. They belonged to a HitchHikers camping group with mostly Colorado members. Some of Alice's other interests were music (playing the piano, listening to Bach and Handel), flower gardening, star gazing (she especially enjoyed the Perseid meteor showers every August), ice skating, Alice had served on the Kimball Manor Board, the Kimball Public Schools Board (for 12 1/2 years), the Banner/Kimball Extension Board, the Banner/Kimball 4-H Council. She has been a TeamMates mentor since the beginning of the program in Kimball. Alice was a teacher's aide at Mary Lynch for three years, was employed at the Kimball Public Library, the Soil Conservation Office (now NRSC) and was hired to type CRP contracts and was secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church. Alice was a member of Kimball Evangelical Free Church and affirmed her faith by baptism October 13, 2019. Alice had originally planned to be a missionary in New Guinea, but she found that God was able to use her right where she was. She enjoyed serving God and witnessing wherever He led her. Survivors include her husband Donald of Kimball, NE; sons Paul (Katy) Evertson of Windsor, CO., Kirk (Debra) Evertson of Kimball, NE., and David (Dana) of Laramie, WY; brothers James Mueller of Lakewood, CO., Robert Mueller of Kimball, NE., and Bill (JoAnn) Mueller of Kimball, NE; grandchildren Daniel (Tori) Evertson, Brian (Kelly) Evertson, Joel Evertson, Dawson Evertson, Devon Evertson, Dax Evertson: great grandchildren Deacon Evertson and Ezra Evertson. She was preceded in death by her parents.

What is special lady! She touched my life with her cheery disposition, her love of life, her kindness and spiritual beliefs were her trademarks. She will forever live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew her. I wish I would have made it out to visit her and the family at least one more time before she left us. Again, she is touching my life now and reminding me of what is important. You are forever in my heart Alice......❤️ Sending my love and a hug to the family. Roxie

Dearest Evertson Family, what an absolute privilege it was to meet all of you at the gathering Alice organised when Steve and I visited from Perth Australia last year. I could tell immediately that your family unit was special. Alice was a special lady and her love for her ‘Kiwi son’ was very evident. I know that she will be missed by all of you but her memory will live on in all of you! Sending you lots of love from Perth Australia.
