

Mary Emily Staab, 87, of Kimball, died at her home on Monday, September 10, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 15th , at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Kimball with Father Robert Karnish officiating. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. A Christian Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family. Mary Emily Staab was born in Akron, Ohio, on August 18, 1925, to Gottlieb and Magdalena (Applehans) Frieberger. Her family moved to Colorado and she attended school in Crook, CO. Mary was married to Virgil Staab on April 18, 1944, in Julesberg, CO. They lived in Crook for several years and moved to Kimball in 1950. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She worked at Western Market and the Kimball Motel. Mary then began working as a cook at the Kimball High School and retired at the age of 75. She enjoyed crochet and embroidery work, doing word search puzzles, and bingo. She was a great cook and loved providing for her family and friends.
Survivors include her children Gary (Carmen E.) Staab of Rock Springs, WY; Virgil Staab Jr. of Kimball; Diane Ikuta of La Mirada, CA; Linda (Ventura) Villalobos of Rock Springs, WY; Cheryl Bates of Ft. Morgan, CO; and Carmen F. (Ernie) Ramos of Chino Valley, AZ; brothers, John Urban, Paul (Louise) Urban; sisters Helen (Frank) Sanger, Betty Mika, Irene Hirschfeld, Shirley ( Harold) Scheck, and Fran (Gerry) Kaveny; 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, and grandchildren David Ikuta, Corey Staab, Brandon Ramos, and Angela Ramos
