

Alpha “Jean” Marie Nickerson, age 80, of Beulah, went to be with her Lord Jesus, Friday, May 9, 2014 with her family at her side. She was born January 1, 1934 in Mt. Morris to John and Alpha (Dean) Schultz.
Jean married the late Lawrence Nickerson on December 5, 1953 in Mt. Morris. Together they raised 5 children.
Jean was a member of the Homestead Community Church in Honor. She was a devoted wife and mother, and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jean also enjoyed gardening; everything from flowers to vegetables, which she usually canned. She loved crafting and was once a member of a crafting club. She could sew, knit, and crochet. Jean was a loving and caring person and will be greatly missed by many.
Jean is survived by 5 sons: Donald Nickerson of Traverse City, Terry Nickerson of Livonia, Michael Nickerson of Lake City, Richard Nickerson of Beulah, Joseph (Elizabeth) Nickerson of Rockford, and daughter-in-law Jan Nickerson; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence in 2009, sisters: Lillian Ross and Alice Conquest; brothers: Harry and Elmer Schultz.
A visitation will be held Monday, May 12, 2014 from 5-8pm at the Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 11:00am also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley.
Memorial contributions in Jean’s name may be directed to the Homestead Community Church.
