Betty was born in Kingsley on December 15, 1937, the daughter of Allen and Melissa (Guernsey) Church. She graduated from Kingsley High School in 1955 and on September 29, 1956 married Richard “Dick” Bauer. Dick was in the US Army, which allowed Betty the opportunity to move to Germany while he was stationed there. Betty was a wonderful mother of five children within six years which left her a very busy woman. Even with her own children, she still found room in her heart to offer a home to several foster children. When her youngest child was in kindergarten, Betty was a cook at St. Mary’s Hannah School and then started working on the line at Sara Lee. She later became the secretary of Sara Lee and then a member of the Board of Directors. She finally retired in 1993. Betty was a member of St. Mary’s Hannah Catholic Church.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Richard “Dick” Bauer; her children, Patty Boles, Nancy (Jeff) Mikowski, Becky (Todd) Mosley, Scott Bauer, and Connie (Rick) Bach; grandchildren, Haley Boles, Alan and Jenny Mikowski, Ryan, Melissa, Caitlin and Zachary Mosley, Mike Bauer, and Christopher, Tyler and Hannah Bach; great grandchild, Raza Bauer; brothers, Bruce (Loretta) Church and Milton (Sue) Church; sister-in-law, Elaine Church; and her very good friends, Helen Forgie and Ramona Crain. Betty is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Allan Morris Church.
