Nelson L. Kneip

Nelson L. Kneip, age 73, of Fife Lake passed away peacefully Monday, October 13, 2014 at Munson medical Center with his family at his side. He was born July 6, 1941 in Detroit to John Kneip and Christina (Haskins) Kneip. Nelson received his technical certification in Electrical from Retz Tech. in Detroit. He worked for Great Lakes Steel, Crawford Doors, Kimble's Market Fife Lake as a meat cutter, and retired from Eagle Trim.

After a Nine year engagement Nelson married Sherry L. Stone on June 8, 1996 in Fife Lake. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, the computer, and spending time with his family.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Sherry; 6 children: Shawn Kneipp M.D. (Larry)Klima of North Carolina, Eric (Jamie) Kneip of TN, Shane Kneip (Tiffany Penney) of California. Cory Stone of Mancelona, Stacy Kneip (Philip Sabourin) of Fife Lake, and Cody Kneip of Fife Lake; 8 grandchildren: Nathan, Madison, Anna, Phoebe, James, Christina, Denny, and Peyton; brother John Brayman, and mother-in-law Erma Stone of Roscommon.

Nelson was preceded in death by his parents.

Per his wishes cremation has taken place and there are no services planned at this time. Memorial contributions in Nelson’s name may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Kingsley.
