

Tom was born in Cadillac, on Oct. 5, 1939 and graduated from Cadillac High School. He owned and operated the Cadillac and Big Rapids Cab Companies and went on to serve as the first manager of the Cadillac Dial-A-Ride. He was later a machinist and retired from Borg Warner in 2003.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, Alonzo and Florence Fisher; his siblings, Chuck, Wayne, Don, and Gordon; and his son, Eddie.
Tom is lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Ruth Ann Fisher; his siblings, Ralph, George, Patricia Green, Sandy Pressler and Barbara Brannam; his children, Steve (Noreen) Zakrajsek, Wayne Fisher, Todd (Debra) Zakrajsek, Kelli (Robert) Hayden, Joseph (LeeAnn) Fisher; his grandchildren Emma Bragg, Anthony Zakrajsek, Niki Fisher, Christian Hayden, Vinny Zakrajsek, Scotty Fisher, MaryHelen Zakrajsek, Johanna Hayden and Kathryn Zakrajsek; and great-grandchildren, Matthew and Preston.
Tom’s favorite past time was racing. He started his dirt track racing in the early 60s at Cadillac Fairgrounds, and later at Merritt and Cherry Speedway. His love of the races was passed down to his sons and his grandson, and he enjoyed spending his weekends working on cars and at the racetrack. Tom enjoyed hunting with his family and close friends. He was also an avid fan of his grandchildren’s events.
His viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 22, at Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley, and from 12:30 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your local American Heart Association.
