

Thomas “Tom” Allen Soltow, age 71, of Kingsley passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Munson Medical Center. He was born March 25, 1943 in Toledo, OH to Howard and Gertrude (Ribby) Soltow. Tom graduated from DeWitt High School in 1962 and enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War. On January 29, 1965 Tom married the love of his life, Virginia “Jinny” Sherman in Grand Ledge,MI.
Tom and his wife owned and operated the Kingsley Laundry Mat for over 30 years. Tom also had a small electrical engine repair shop called Trolling Motor Repair, which he ran for 24 years. Tom had a passion for the out of doors and especially loved fishing, hunting, golfing, and snowmobile riding with friends.
He will be greatly missed by his wife of 50 years, Jinny, brother Jack Soltow of McBain , and several loving nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a nephew Bradley Soltow.
A memorial visitation will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 from 6-8pm at the Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1 pm with visitation one hour prior also at the funeral home. Tom’s services will also include military honors to honor his time spent defending our country.
Memorial contributions in Tom’s name may be directed to your local Veterans Administration.
