Kingsley, Michigan
An incredibly beautiful soul was finally able to rest on May 10, 2015. A mother to all left us on a fitting day: Mother’s Day. Tina Marie (Weaver) Woodworth, 47, of Kingsley, Michigan passed so peacefully at the Cancer Treatment Center near Chicago at 12:01am, holding out just long enough to celebrate a day all for her; a day honoring the way she lived her life.
Tina was born to John and Betty Weaver on August 26, 1967 in Traverse City, Michigan. She grew up on the Weaver Centennial Farm in Kingsley with siblings Tara (Lamie), Todd, and Tracy.
Tina attended Kingsley Schools, where in sixth grade she met the love of her life, Ken Woodworth. They married the summer she graduated on July 26, 1986, and began building a beautiful life together. The two brought three wonderful children into the world: Tiffany, Kristina, and Adam. But those were not the only children Tina had.
From the first time she stepped foot on a school bus in 1999, Tina was a mother figure to every child that passed through her bus doors. She welcomed any child at her dinner table daily and always considered the kids on her bus a part of her family. She continued driving her school bus until her three year battle with Metastatic Breast Cancer no longer allowed her to. She will forever be remembered as the bus driver that handmade hundreds and hundreds of baked goods every single Christmas to hand out to all of the kids on her bus. No one that rode her bus will forget her Last Day of School pizza parties. So many children in Kingsley area refer to Tina as their “second mom,” and she had a heart big enough to care for every single one like her own.
Tina was always busy in the Kingsley community both on and off her bus. Tina volunteered her time regularly in Choir Boosters, Project Graduation, Drama Club, Band Boosters, and also ran the Kingsley Kids’ Café at the Buckley Old Engine Show.
Tina is survived by her one and only, Ken Woodworth, her loving children, Tiffany, Kristina, and Adam, her two favorite kitties, Miss Kitty and Lulu, and all of her “adopted” children that ever rode the Eagle Bus.
Waiting in the light to take her hand were her father, John Weaver, and her grandmother, Marguerite Weaver.
Visitation for Tina will be this Sunday, May 17, 2015 in the Kingsley High School Gymnasium from 1pm-4pm with the funeral service to follow.
The family asks that anyone that was ever touched by Tina or had their day brightened by her million dollar smile come share their stories, love, laughs, and (happy) tears. The family also asks that everyone wear Tina’s favorite color, yellow, or pink in honor of her long battle with breast cancer.
A private burial will follow at a later date for immediate family.
Any donations for Tina should go to her GoFundMe account which can be found at gofundme.com/7f9ito, or directly to her family in order to help cover the unexpected funeral costs, medical bills, and a gift of gratitude to the ICU nurses in Chicago that cared so well for her in her last few days.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Kingsley, Buckley, and Benzie communities, as well as TCAPS Transportation, for supporting Tina throughout her fight, and for the outpouring of love and support in this very tough time.
May Tina’s strength, compassion, love, and drive always be remembered and carried on in the hearts of all who knew her.
