Alan Leigh Millard, 79, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away on March 27, 2026, at 12:50 pm. He was born on September 17, 1946. Alan graduated from Blountville High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a member of the Brown Water Navy.
Alan retired from Eastman Chemical after 30 years of service. He later owned and operated Alan's Watch and Clock Repair. He also faced life with remarkable strength, surviving for 14 years with stage 4 lung cancer.
Alan was an intelligent man who loved books and was a voracious reader. He enjoyed woodworking and creating with his hands, and he took pleasure in listening to CCR and The Eagles. He was also known for delivering a great one liner at just the right moment.
Alan is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patsy Millard; his brother, Scott Millard; his brothers-in-law, Tony McClain (Marilyn), Terry McClain (Pat), and Rick McClain (Anita); Harley, his “bestest boy”; and many friends and loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, George A Millard (Jean Millard); his brother, George E Millard; his sisters, Sandy Klebanoff and Kathy Katanzaro; and Jake, his beloved dog.
Visitation will be held at East Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, TN 37664, on April 1, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm. A graveside committal service with military honors will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4997 Memorial Blvd, Kingsport, TN 37664, on April 1, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
The family extends special thanks to Dr Shipstone and Dr Da Silva at the Cancer Center, and to Dr Moore and the nurses and staff of Wilcox Hall, for their care and compassion.
