

Annie Ruth Marshall, age 73, went home to heaven to be with her Lord and husband of 31 years, Louis J. Marshall. Born in Scott County, Virginia a daughter of the late Kilmer W. and Nora E. Quillin Greear, she was a resident of Michigan before moving to Kingsport in 1978. Annie Ruth was formerly employed with General Motors in Detroit, and was of the Free Will Baptist faith. Survivors include two sons, Louis J. Marshall, Jr. and wife Eva of Bristol, VA, William R. Marshall of Kingsport; two daughters, Betty R. Shupe and husband Tommy of Blountville, Debbie K. Asbury and husband Allen of Kingsport; six grandchildren, Amanda E. Smith, Bob Sands, Jimmy Marshall of Bristol TN, Jaimie Marshall of Bristol VA, Billy Marshallof Bristol VA, Matt Asburyof Kingsport; one step-grandson, Josh Powers of Gate City, six great-grandchildren, Chris Smith, Robert Smith, Makayla Smith, Aleena Smith, Jacob Asbury, Matthew Asbury; two brothers, Gene Greear and wife Margaret of Woodhaven, MI, Joseph E. Greear and wife Freda of Lincoln Park, MI; and one sister, Juanita Thrift of Roscommon, MI ; and special caregiver, Angie Crawford. The family will receive friends Friday, August 17, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Gary Hodges officiating. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at East Lawn Memorial Park.
