

Bill Walters, age 76, of Kingsport, passed away after an extended illness Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born January 9, 1934 in Hawkins County, TN to the late Emory and Pearl Walters and has resided in Kingsport for most of his life.
He retired from JP Stevens after 37 years of service. Bill enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Along with his wife, Bill would often visit flea markets where he enjoyed talking with people. Bill also enjoyed singing in a Gospel Quartet.
He is preceded in death by his sisters Betty Burgan and Jeanette Ward, brothers Earl and Lewis Walters and nephew David Walters.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pauline Walters, daughter Paula Burgin and husband Stephen, son Jay Walters and wife Tami, grandsons Kelley Burgin and wife Becky, Eric Burgin and Stacy Broyles, Ethan Walters and Ryan Walters, great-grandsons, Noah and Finn Burgin and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, December 6, 2010 from 5-7 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm with Revs. Raymond Hammonds and Clarence Bear officiating. Graveside services will be at East Lawn Memorial Park, Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 11 am where family and friends are asked to gather at the graveside by 10:45 a.m.
