

Bobbie “Bob” Lawson Corley, age 87 of Kingsport, was welcomed into God’s Heavenly Kingdom during the late evening hours of October 14, 2015. Bobbie was born to the late Mr. Earl M. Corley and Dora Mills Corley on January 27, 1928. On November 4, 1954 he married his best friend and love of his life, June, and after 60 years of marriage, she survives.
Bobbie was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church and he served his country proudly during WW II. After serving in the U.S. Navy for three years, he returned home to begin his life, raising his wonderful family.
Bobbie is survived by his wife, June Corley; one daughter, Ann Dora Robinette and her husband Eddie; one sister, Edna Whitley; one brother, Gerald Corley; and one sister-in-law, Ginger Corley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl M. and Dora Mills Corley; one son, Bobbie Earl Corley; one daughter, Jennie Lynn; four brothers, Grady Corley, Jullian Corley, Gordon Corley, and Fredie Corley; two sisters, Barbara Wagnor and Martha Lawson.
The family wants to express their heart-felt thanks to Dr.Robert Funke. He has been with the family through Bob’s long illness. The family would also like to send a special thanks to their friends and neighbors; and to Tammy and Lois with Amedisys Hospice. They took care of Bob with the highest respect and caring attitude.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at East Lawn Memorial Garden of Kingsport, Tennessee in the Garden of Gethsemane, with Pastor Tim Hodges officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church, 2600 E. Center Street, Kingsport, TN 37664 or to the food pantry of their choice.
