

Earl C. Linkous, 89, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014, at the Holston Valley Medical Center. Mr. Linkous was born on September 28, 1924 in Hawkins County, Tennessee the son of the late Gaines Linkous and Julia Lane Linkous. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. He received the following medals and citations; Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Ribbon, and the Army Occupation Medal. He retired from the Mead Corporation and attended Pleasant View Baptist Church. Mr. Linkous was preceded in death by his wife, Maxie Lee Conley Linkous; three brothers, Jack, Glen and Bert Linkous; and five sisters, Irene Rouse, Edna Chapman, Sybil Nelms, Leona Davis and Frances Linkous.
Survivors include; three sons, Steve Linkous and wife Marsha, Dennis Linkous and wife Lorrie and Roger Linkous and wife Dolly; one daughter, Susan Linkous Keeler and husband Rick; four grandchildren, Luciana Davis and husband Stephen, Lucian Linkous and wife Nikki, Josh Linkous and wife Andrea and Matt Linkous; eight great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Betty Linkous; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friend’s Tuesday, August 5, 2014 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services for Mr. Earl C. Linkous will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 7:00pm in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 11:00am in the Garden of Apostles at East Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Pleasant View Baptist Church, 2101 Stadium Drive, Kingsport, TN., 37664.
