She grew up in Mendota, VA, where she graduated from Hamilton High School. Eva was a homemaker most of her life but spent several years working for Holston Defense Corporation.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Worley Vicars; daughter, Susan Vicars; one infant son who died at birth; father, John Pippin; mother, Maggie Osborne Pippin; and her sisters, Vera P. Norman and Hazel P. Vicars.
She is survived by her nephews, Fred Vicars (wife Joanne) and Bobby Norman (wife Annette). She is also survived by her great-nephew, Michael Vicars (wife Amy) and her great-niece Debbie Jones (husband Ralph), her great-great nephew Nathan Kelly (wife Rachel), her great-great niece Lauren Bare (husband Jared) and her great-great niece Laken Vicars; one great-great-great nephew, Charlie Kelly and two great-great-great nieces, Maggie Kelly and Eva Bare.
Eva was a charter member of Birdwell Heights Presbyterian Church. She served many years as a Sunday School teacher and the leader of the Ladies Bible Study.
A special word of thanks goes to those members of the church who provided care for Eva during her illness.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 1, 2019 form 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at East Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm with the Rev. Larry Ball and the Rev. Patrick Hines officiating.
Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park in the Christus Garden.
